Deborah Zhang
Bachelor of Arts

Deborah Zhang just completed her Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Politics and French!

“Leaving high school, I knew I liked the humanities but like many 18 year olds, didn’t have a specific career aspiration in mind – which is why I was drawn to the Melbourne Model.”

Next year, Deborah plans on undertaking an honours year in French language and culture focusing on the experiences of second-generation French immigrants. Eventually though, she hopes to work in the educationsector both teaching and ensuring that kids from all walks of life have access to quality schooling!

She’s had some of the quintessential university experiences whilst at uni as well; studying abroad at the University of Birmingham for a semester, acting as a French Peer Mentor to first year French students, and serving on the committee of the Melbourne University Debating Society!

“Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there - join that club, arrange that consult with your tutor, sign up to that activity!”
