Dr James McGann
BBiomed (2011), MD (2015)
" I believe the Alumni Council provides a wonderful opportunity for us as a University to foster and support a culture of engagement within the alumni community. "
James is a junior doctor at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, having completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University in 2015. He was intimately involved with Alumni Relations in his time as a student, serving as President of the Melbourne Medical School Student Ambassador Program. During his tenure the program grew both in size and complexity, proudly engaging with alumni across many platforms.
In addition to his work with the alumni community, James has also been actively involved in other student groups including the Teddy Bear Hospital Committee, Peer Tutoring Program, and was Sponsorship Officer for the Medical Student’s Society. In his spare time he is an avid netballer, having captained the Victorian Men’s Netball Reserve Squad in 2015.
