The University of Melbourne Indonesian Alumni Association aims to provide all alumni, especially those who are in the greater Jakarta area and western part of Indonesia, with opportunities to expand their social and professional connections through our regular events. We are committed to providing peer support for all alumni while at the same time, also passionate about giving back to the community by collaborating with our alumni and various community partners.

Guntur Prima, SH, LLM, President
Guntur’s utter passion is to promote the importance of education and inspire society by encouraging people to pursue education through various opportunities. His educational background includes a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor’s degree in law (Sarjana Hukum) from Universitas Indonesia. During his work at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade for ten years, he has been assigned as Indonesian Delegate for a number of international events, such as the International Trade and Security's Security and Strategic Trade Management Academy at University of Georgia. Recently, he has been appointed as Chef of Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre in Mexico City and will begin his new duty shortly.
Henri Bemelmans, BSc, DipEd, DipAppSci, MEd, Vice President
Henri was born in Geelong, Victoria and completed his undergraduate degree with a double major in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Science, followed by a Diploma in Education, both at Monash University. After teaching for three years in the Catholic education sector, he moved into the financial sector as a systems programmer and analyst, whilst also completing post graduate studies in Information Sciences at Victoria University. After five years in the IT industry, he returned to teaching in Catholic education before commencing further post graduate studies in Education at the University of Melbourne. In 2001 he left Melbourne for Bandung, Indonesia, completing the final semesters of his Master of Education online and graduating in 2002. Currently Head of Secondary Campus at Australian Independent School (AIS) Indonesia, he was also Head of School at Bandung International School, West Java and Principal at ACG School Jakarta. He loves working in education and the opportunity to influence the lives of the children with whom he works. Henri has been involved in the UMIAA for three years and looks forward to supporting the association as it works to provide social and network opportunities for University of Melbourne Alumni across the Indonesian archipelago.
Elizabeth Sarah Aryaputri, SKM, MPH, Treasurer
Sarah currently works at the Ministry of Health and serves as Head of Sub Division of Bilateral Cooperation, in charge of the health cooperation between Indonesia and American, European, and African countries. She attended the Master of Public Health program at the University of Melbourne from 2014-2016 and while doing her master, she was also active in doing volunteer work and in several student organizations/clubs such as the MUDC and University of Melbourne AAS Club.
Before attending the University of Melbourne, Sarah completed a bachelor degree in public health from the University of Indonesia, majoring in Biostatistics. She has built her career as a biostatistician before deciding to work in the public sector, where she became more passionate about global health issues.
Astrid Seikka, Secretary
A lovely and bubbly person, Astrid has a passion to improve the health and wellbeing of all kinds of people. She obtained her Medical Degree from Trisakti University in 2011 and thereafter has been working at various health centers. In 2015, Astrid was granted Australia Awards Scholarship and was awarded as Outstanding Student during the Pre-Departure Training. She was accepted into University of Melbourne in which she studied Public Health with a focus in Gender and Women’s Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health. She graduated with a Master of Public Health Degree from University of Melbourne in 2017. Nowadays, she has been working and cooperating with multiple organisations in fighting against HIV/AIDS such as Angsamerah (she primarily works here as a General Practitioner and Project Manager), FHI360, UNAIDS, UNODC, UN Women and many more. Aside from working, she has also been actively participating as a committee member in various University of Melbourne Indonesian Alumni Association events since November 2017 up to now.
