Madeline Wells
Doctor of Physiotherapy

Graduating this week with her Doctor of Physiotherapy is Madeline Wells!

Maddy has already completed a Bachelor of Science (Physiology) at the University of Melbourne, which is when she realised she could combine her love of sport with her interest in learning about anatomy and physiology.

This year she had a fantastic role as the sports trainer for the State Women’s Rugby Team, where she worked with high level athletes and senior physiotherapists developing her skills before graduating!

She’s also been volunteering with Wellsprings for Women, a community in Dandenong that supports socially-isolated migrant and refugee women, by teaching English skills and helping to implement a ‘Health Expo Day’.

Her advice for students finishing high school?

“Don’t place too much pressure on yourself when graduating from year 12. It can be daunting choosing a degree or career straight away, especially if you’re like me and unsure what you want to do. Just remember that there are so many opportunities out there and if you don’t find the right fit straight away you can always try something else!”
