Roni Levy - Master of Environment

Roni Levy - Master of Environment
Roni chose to study a Master of Environment at the University of Melbourne because of its unique interdisciplinary nature that allowed her to integrate her multiple interests.
The freedom to choose from over 100 subjects and to design my own specialty was extremely meaningful in forming my learning experience and outcomes.
Being a full-time international student, Roni appreciated the social network which she found at Melbourne. Managing her time, finances and workload while building a community in a new place was not always easy, but Roni was thankful for how the Office for Environmental Programs created a “supportive and warm environment that attracts amazing people from all over the world.”
Roni complemented her studies by completing an internship with Blue Ventures in Timor-Leste, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience. She also worked for Community Change, a local environmental-behavioural research consultancy and became involved in their field research opportunities. On top of this, Roni spent time volunteering for different initiatives such as Climates, The Kazzie Award and World Cleanup Day Australia.
After graduation, Roni plans on fully embracing the Melbourne lifestyle (as she deserves!). She is currently freelancing for multiple social enterprises in environment and development, while searching for her next full-time job opportunity.
Roni urges current students to define as clearly as they can what they want to achieve out of their unique University of Melbourne experience. “Keep a reflective mindset in re-assessing your path and most importantly, enjoy the learning process not many people get to have.”
