Stephanie Deng
Master of Management (Accounting)

Stephanie grew up in Hangzhou, China but considers Australia to be her second home having spent the past six years studying both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees here. She chose to study in Melbourne after visiting several times and falling in love with the vibrancy of the city which she took full advantage of!

"My piece of advice for university students is to get 100% involved. Sometimes it does matter on the attitude to try new things. Some people are lazy or reluctant to try new things, they may lose a lot of opportunities available to them."

Stephanie plans to return to China after her graduation, both to be closer to her family and to take up some of the amazing opportunities that big cities like Beijing and Shanghai have to offer. But it’s the people of Melbourne she’s going to miss the most when she returns home:

“What I will miss the most will definitely be the people. They include the peers I met during the study, friends I met in the student organization and other activities and the course teachers I met at the University of Melbourne.”
