A celebration of global alumni communities
Each year, our Alumni Associations host ‘Welcome’ events between February and April, offering an opportunity for alumni returning or relocating to cities outside Melbourne to meet their local Alumni Associations and alumni communities.
Currently taking place in 10 locations around the world, the Welcome event series is a great way for alumni to get connected and stay involved, share Melbourne memories and network with fellow graduates.
Express your interest in attending the 2019 Welcome events and be the first to hear when registrations open in your city:
I love how the University of Melbourne value and try to reconnect their alumni together within a country, it is a great networking opportunity indeed.
Welcome Singapore (2018)
It was good to see alumni of different generations from young to the not-so-young, and that our commonality is we all proudly graduated from the University of Melbourne.
Welcome New York (2018)
It was a warm atmosphere and environment. I met a lot of new people very quickly and even connected with an old friend from school that I had no idea had moved to NYC!
Welcome Tokyo (2018)
Excellent opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. Makes one feel part of the Melbourne University family.

There are more than 360,000 alumni of the University living and working in over 150 countries. Led by alumni volunteers, our alumni groups support fellow alumni and remain connected with the active life of the University.
Alumni groups may be organised based on:
- region (in a city, country or region)
- faculty or academic discipline
- extra-curricular interests
Alumni groups serving a large alumni community (over 1,000 alumni) may wish to formalise their connection to the University by becoming an Alumni Association.
Serving smaller communities, more informal groups (known as networks) also operate throughout the world. To advise the University of a network or to find out if there is one in your area, please the contact the Alumni Relations Manager, Advocacy and Recognition via email@example.com or call +61 3 8344 1746.
